Finance Director

This position is with one of the largest multi-specialty physician groups in the country. It is Chicagoland based and also one of the fastest growing networks in the US.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis across the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Manage internal financial reporting, providing department-specific insights and guidance.
• Translate complex financial data into key performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making.
• Lead the development of the company’s five-year strategic business plan and ensure successful budget execution.
• Provide financial expertise and strategic counsel to management and decision-makers.
• Assess financial implications of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures while ensuring smooth financial integration.
• Analyze financial statements, recommend profit-enhancing strategies, and proactively identify potential risks.
• Validate incentive compensation calculations in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Prepare and present financial reports for internal leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business (MBA preferred).
• CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior financial role, with required experience in healthcare.
• Experience with IPO execution is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in mergers and acquisitions.
• Proven ability to scale financial operations and implement long-term structures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Expertise in financial analysis, GAAP, SEC reporting, corporate finance, and valuation methods for acquisitions.

Finance Director

• Overseeing the preparation, analysis, and forecasting of budgets across the organization and its various departments and business segments, supporting the broader business planning efforts
• Managing the internal financial reporting process, including the distribution and clarification of department-specific financial reports within the company.
• Interpreting and translating financial data into critical performance indicators to equip management with insights that support decision-making, particularly regarding investments and strategic direction.
• Coordinating the creation of the company’s five-year strategic business plan and managing the budgeting process to ensure successful achievement of the long-term goals outlined in the plan.
• Offering daily financial guidance and expert advice to management and team members involved in decision-making processes.
• Evaluating financial information and providing recommendations on the financial implications of potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, while also supporting the smooth integration of financial systems and reporting during such transitions.
• Reviewing financial statements and proposing actions to improve profitability and enhance business outcomes, while identifying and alerting management to financial risks that could impact business sustainability.
• Validating incentive compensation calculations in collaboration with other departments.
• Preparing and presenting internal reports as well as Board of Directors reports.
• Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business; an MBA is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior financial role, healthcare experience is required.
• Experience with executing an initial public offering (IPO) is a plus.
• Proven expertise in handling mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience in scaling financial operations quickly and establishing robust, long-term structures.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines, working independently and managing time effectively.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis, corporate finance theory, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC reporting requirements, valuation methods for acquisitions, and the accounting processes related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
