Paid Media Director – CPG | Outdoor Sporting Goods

We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Paid Media Director to lead our performance marketing initiatives for a fast-growing CPG brand in the outdoor and sporting goods space. You’ll own the paid media strategy across Google Ads, Bing, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, Amazon, and Connected TV via MNTN—driving awareness, conversions, and loyalty among our community of adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, storytelling, and growth—and who understands how to build full-funnel campaigns that connect with consumers who live for the outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Media Planning & Execution

Develop and lead multi-channel paid media strategies that drive brand visibility, eCommerce growth, and retail sell-through

Execute campaigns across search, shopping, social, display, CTV, and more—with a strong focus on ROAS, CAC, and CPA

Continuously refine campaign structure, bidding strategies, and funnel approach for optimal performance
Creative Collaboration & Asset Optimization

Partner with creative teams to build platform-specific, scroll-stopping content aligned with brand voice and outdoor culture

Lead the creative briefing process, ensuring ads highlight product benefits in compelling, authentic ways
Audience Strategy & Segmentation

Leverage behavioral, demographic, and first-party data to build highly targeted audience segments, including lookalikes and interest-based profiles

Customize campaigns for key outdoor personas: hikers, cyclists, anglers, climbers, and more
A/B Testing & Conversion Optimization

Own the testing roadmap across copy, creative, CTAs, landing pages, and ad formats

Apply insights to continuously improve engagement, click-through, and conversion rates
Budget Ownership & Forecasting

Manage and optimize paid media budgets across platforms, ensuring spend efficiency and ROI

Forecast spend and performance to support broader growth goals and revenue planning
Analytics, Reporting & Attribution

Track and analyze campaign performance using GA4, Google Data Studio, Amazon Ads, and platform-native tools

Deliver actionable insights and data-backed recommendations to leadership with a focus on business impact
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead a small internal team or external agency partners to deliver campaign execution and results

Work closely with eCommerce, product, and brand teams to ensure cohesive messaging and integrated strategies
Innovation & Market Awareness

Stay ahead of platform changes, consumer behavior trends, and emerging technologies

Experiment with new ad formats and channels (e.g., TikTok, CTV, influencer partnerships) that align with the active lifestyle market
What We’re Looking For

5–7+ years of experience managing paid media in a consumer-facing eCommerce or CPG brand
-
Hands-on expertise across Meta, Google, Amazon, and emerging platforms like TikTok and CTV

Proven track record driving DTC growth and omni-channel performance
-
Deep understanding of audience segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and campaign testing
-
Fluent in analytics platforms like GA4, Google Data Studio, and eCommerce reporting dashboards

Strong project management and leadership skills
