Job Title: Sr. Brokerage Sales Representative

About the Company:
Our client is an asset-based regional cargo transport company specializing in the transportation of liquid asphalt, petroleum crude oil, anhydrous ammonia, and other liquid petrochemicals. As they expand their capabilities, they are launching a new brokerage branch and are seeking an experienced Brokerage Sales Representative to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of building a brokerage division from the ground up.
Position Summary:
Our client is looking for an experienced Brokerage Sales Representative with a strong book of business and a deep network of industry contacts. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a start-up environment or in a newly established brokerage division, with the ability to work independently and guide the setup process of a brokerage 3PL provider. Familiarity with obtaining proper licensing and regulatory compliance for brokerage operations is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Utilize your existing book of business to generate new brokerage opportunities and drive revenue growth.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers to establish a reliable logistics network.
- Operational Leadership: Work independently to help develop and refine the brokerage division’s operations and processes.
- Licensing & Compliance: Support licensing acquisition and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Input: Provide guidance on setting up, scaling, and optimizing brokerage operations.
- Freight Management (Preferred): Oversee the full life cycle of freight management, including quoting, booking, and tracking shipments.
- Collaboration: Partner with the Carrier Sales Representative to enhance load coverage and ensure excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 5 years in brokerage sales, preferably in a start-up or newly established brokerage environment.
- Industry Network: Proven track record with an established book of business and strong shipper/carrier relationships.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of brokerage licensing requirements and compliance standards.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-Sufficiency: Ability to work independently and take initiative in a growing division.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred but not required).
