- Highly organized with the ability to manage a high volume of loads simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- A problem-solver by nature -- operations at a growing brokerage rarely go exactly as planned, and you need to be comfortable finding solutions quickly
- Strong communication skills, both internally with sales and carrier teams and externally with carriers and customers as needed
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, and adaptability is essential
- A team-first mindset -- operations are the backbone of the business, and the right person understands that and takes pride in it
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting large national accounts or high-volume operations at a freight brokerage
- Familiarity with TMS platforms and operational reporting tools
- Background in a growth-stage company where you helped build or improve operational processes
- Experience with specialized, oversized, or expedited freight operations
The Opportunity
Our client's operations team is the engine that keeps everything running, and as the company's revenue and customer base continue to grow, the need for experienced operations talent is growing with it. This role is an opportunity to join a tight-knit team at a pivotal moment, contribute to the processes being built right now, and grow your career alongside the business.
Our client handles a wide variety of freight -- FTL, LTL, intermodal, expedited, specialized, and oversized -- which means the operations role is genuinely diverse. No two days look the same, and the right candidate will thrive in that environment.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage loads across a variety of equipment types and lanes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely execution
- Coordinate with the carrier sales team to confirm capacity and resolve any coverage issues before they become customer-facing problems
- Track shipments in real time and communicate proactively with internal teams and customers when issues arise
- Support Account Managers in delivering consistent service to assigned accounts, helping grow load volume and account retention over time
- Contribute to operational process improvement as our client scales, helping to establish systems and standards that will support the company's long-term growth
- Maintain accurate records in the TMS and ensure all operational data is reliable and up to date
Why This Role Is Different
Operations coordinators at our client are not invisible. In a company of 25 people with ambitious growth goals, every person's contribution is seen and recognized. Leadership empowers their team members, rewards performance, and creates real pathways for growth -- including the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and eventually lead teams as the company scales.
If you are an operations professional who wants to be more than a cog in a machine and is ready to contribute to something being built from the ground up, our client is a place worth considering.
