Our client is looking for a Electrical Power Engineer III within their Aerospace Components Division. The engineer in this role will have broad hands-on responsibility and ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from proposal through qualification testing and production support. The incumbent will have significant influence on the development of the product line’s power circuits and the advancement of the company’s Aerospace Components business in the marketplace.
Electrical Power Engineer III
Your Roles/Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed electrical design and development of power systems in support of the following product lines:
- Actuation Systems
- Turbo Generators
- Power Generation, Conversion, and Distribution
- Micro-thrust Turbines
- Support proposal efforts in a fast-paced aerospace environment:
- Assess customer system level requirements
- Develop derived requirements
- Produce requirements compliance matrix
- Generate engineering models of proposed designs with substantiating analysis balancing rigor and speed
- Contribute to estimating recurring and non-recurring costs
- Contribute to the development of project schedules
- Develop detailed power system performance models using MATLAB/SIMULINK (or equivalent) system requirements to components and subsystems
- Design and develop power electronic hardware cradle to grave, including component selection, schematic capture, simulation, PCB/A layout, and all supporting analyses:
- Power electronics for motor control, active rectification, DC-DC conversion, 3-phase, and distribution
- Integration of various sensors used in closed loop control systems (resolver, VDT, pressure, current, HED)
- Analog front end conditioning for various sensors
- Assist in designing and developing firmware and software to support the power systems/technologies mentioned above
