IT Applications Specialist - Restaurant Systems

Our client is a well-established, multi-concept restaurant group headquartered in Phoenix with over 90 locations across the U.S. They are seeking an IT Applications Specialist to join their corporate technology team, reporting to the Director of Restaurant Systems.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role supporting the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing development of restaurant Point-of-Sale systems and the broader technology stack. You’ll manage POS database programming, translate operational requirements into functional configurations, and play an active role in deploying new restaurant technologies across the organization.
What You’ll Do
• Program and maintain POS configurations for menu changes, LTOs, pricing updates, discounts, and promotional setups (Aloha CFC and off-premise ordering channels)
• Develop, test, and deploy configuration changes and software updates to restaurant locations; monitor deployments and resolve any failures
• Support the rollout and testing of emerging restaurant technologies including online ordering, catering platforms, KDS, curbside, and mobile applications
• Provide high-level remote troubleshooting and technical support to restaurant locations, ensuring issues are resolved with urgency and follow-through
• Maintain documentation and change management logs
• Offer backup support across other IT disciplines including basic networking, connectivity, and end-user support
• Collaborate with technology partners to improve operational and guest-facing experiences
• Travel occasionally to new restaurant openings for equipment staging, installation, and testing
• Provide rotating on-call coverage for evenings and weekends as needed
What They’re Looking For
• 2+ years in a tech support or help desk environment; hospitality industry experience a plus
• At least 1 year of hands-on POS programming experience required
• Working knowledge of networking and connectivity fundamentals
• Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset and the ability to stay composed under pressure
• Team-oriented with a self-starter mentality
• Experience with payment processing integrations or other restaurant technology platforms is a plus
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or Technology preferred
