Vice President of Information Technology
Vice President of Information Technology
Location: Boston, MA or Atlanta, GA (Remote-Friendly) Type: Full-Time Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
About the Company
We are a high-growth critical infrastructure services company operating at the intersection of wireless, wireline, fiber, and emerging technology. With over 1,200 employees across the US and internationally, we deliver turnkey solutions for some of the most complex network infrastructure projects in the country — from cell tower construction and fiber deployment to data centers, in-building wireless systems, and EV charging infrastructure. Our business is fast-paced, transactional, and field-driven — and our technology needs to match that pace.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Vice President of Information Technology to lead our IT function through a critical phase of integration, optimization, and growth. Having completed six acquisitions, we have a robust but fragmented technology environment that requires a strong operator to bring it together. This is not a strategy-only role — we need a leader who thrives running multiple concurrent work streams, gets into the details, and drives measurable outcomes with a lean team.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience integrating systems in a post-acquisition environment, understands how technology enables a field-based workforce, and is energized by the challenge of doing more with what already exists before building something new.
What You'll Do
Systems Integration & Optimization
- Lead the integration of technology systems across acquired business units into a unified, scalable environment
- Reduce redundancy and eliminate underutilization across the existing tech stack
- Drive ERP, CRM, HRIS, and project management system optimization across the organization
- Build and maintain applications that support a distributed, field-based workforce
Work Stream Management
- Run multiple parallel technology initiatives simultaneously with discipline and accountability
- Establish clear project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones
- Partner with divisional leadership to align technology priorities with operational needs
Reporting & Data
- Optimize reporting infrastructure to give leadership real-time visibility into business performance
- Build scalable data pipelines and dashboards that support decision-making across the organization
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a 12-person IT team supporting a 1,200-person organization
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Manage relationships with vendors, system integrators, and technology partners
Innovation
- Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to drive operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve field operations, project delivery, and back-office performance
Current Tech Stack
- ERP: Sage Intacct
- HRIS: ADP
- CRM: Salesforce
- Construction/Project Management: Procore, Site Tracker
- Estimating: Bid to Win
Your Background & Expertise
The Experience
- 10+ years in IT leadership, with significant time at the VP or senior director level
- A track record of integrating technology systems across multiple acquired entities — you've been through this before and know where the bodies are buried
- Background in construction, field services, telecom infrastructure, or a similarly high-volume, transactional industry — you understand how technology has to serve people who aren't sitting at a desk
- Experience in a PE-backed or acquisition-driven environment is a strong plus
The Operator Mindset
- You run work streams — plural, simultaneously — and you deliver
- You're comfortable with a lean team and know how to prioritize ruthlessly
- You've managed distributed, remote workforces and understand the unique technology demands that come with them
- You've built or optimized applications that serve field-based workers, not just corporate users
The Technical Fluency
- Deep familiarity with ERP, CRM, HRIS, and construction project management platforms
- Hands-on experience with some combination of Sage Intacct, Salesforce, Procore, ADP, or similar systems
- A genuine point of view on how AI and automation can drive operational efficiency — and examples to back it up
Preferred:
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Salesforce, Procore, or ADP
- Background in PE-backed, acquisition-driven organizations
- Experience building or optimizing applications for field-based workers
- International team or vendor management experience
- BS/BA
- Active use of AI tools to drive operational efficiency
