Job Summary


The VP, Procurement will manage a large portfolio of activities, including but not limited to, day-to-day contracting activities such as the monitoring of contract performance, the development, evaluation and management of vendor relationships, the negotiating of contracts, the building of relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders, company fleet program, real estate and facilities, and managed print programs. This role collaborates across teams to determine prioritization and allocation of resources for maximum business outcomes. In this role you are accountable for enterprise supplier performance, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier governance. The incumbent will manage the team ensuring supplier performance with regards to Quality, Cost and Delivery by developing appropriate metrics as needed. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and become a trusted partner to help achieve business goals and resolve issues through escalations/negotiations.


Job Requirements

●       Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience required.

●       Experience: Minimum fifteen (15) years in a procurement-related role; preferably ten (10) in a leadership position. Experience negotiating and managing national supplier contracts in the areas of technology, B2B, consulting services, and others.

●       Certification/Licensure: Not applicable.

●       Strong project and program management skills with the ability to oversee multiple strategic initiatives in a dynamic environment.

●       Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and business partners while managing escalations and complex negotiations.

●       Knowledge of healthcare operations, healthcare procurement practices, regulatory requirements, and group purchasing organizations (GPOs).

●       Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to ethical business practices.

●       Reliable transportation; travel not a requirement, but as needed.


Key Accountabilities

●       Ensures that all activities performed align with the vision of the organization's board of directors and executive team, while promoting the company's philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.

●       Works with cross-functional teams to understand the end-to-end processes and collaborate with stakeholders to understand business issues and solutions.

●       Facilitates the standardization of best practices across the business where applicable.

●       Leads and develops the team, including talent development, succession planning, performance management, and achievement of departmental objectives.

●       Partners with cross-functional teams, executes plans to achieve objectives while assessing issues and mitigating risks to ensure successful delivery of programs/projects.

●       Develops and/or supports the development of presentations for Procurement leadership that deliver succinct, concise recommendations on the progress of projects and provides rationale and justifications behind the recommendations.

●       Establishes and maintains departmental policies, standards, governance processes, and controls to support compliant and effective sourcing activities.

●       Develops and executes a contract strategy to support enterprise-wide categories, including scanning the market and proactively identifying contract opportunities.

●       Performs and leverages analytics to inform sourcing/contracting strategies (e.g., benchmarking, industry/market analysis, spend analysis, cost/benefit analysis).

●       Track record of identifying and implementing cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives across various areas (e.g., pricing, standardizing, utilization).

●       Manages internal customer and supplier relationships to ensure successful contract implementation and operational effectiveness.

●       Exceptional relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills that translate into strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

●       Maintains patient and staff privacy and confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA Privacy Final Rule.

●       Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
