Job Description

Vice President of Strategic Initiatives

Location: Remote (U.S.) with travel

About the Company

Our client is a leading healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) services provider backed by one of the nation's premier middle-market private equity firms. The company partners with health systems and hospitals across the United States to improve patient access, maximize reimbursement, and navigate increasingly complex insurance and coverage environments.

Recognized as a market leader in front-end eligibility and enrollment services, the organization helps uninsured and underinsured patients secure appropriate coverage while enabling healthcare providers to improve financial outcomes. The company also provides specialized reimbursement and claims resolution solutions that address complex payment challenges for health systems nationwide.

Serving many of the country's largest hospital systems, the organization supports approximately 40% of leading U.S. hospitals and employs more than 3,000 team members across the country. The business has built a strong reputation for operational excellence, deep healthcare expertise, and a commitment to delivering services entirely through a U.S.-based workforce.

Following years of successful growth and strategic acquisitions, the company is entering its next phase of expansion, driven by continued investment in technology, automation, adjacent service offerings, and strategic M&A initiatives.

Position Overview

The Vice President of Strategic Initiatives will serve as a high-impact strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, helping drive the company's growth, transformation, and value creation agenda.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will lead and execute critical enterprise-wide initiatives that accelerate strategic priorities across technology, operations, growth, and integration efforts. The role is designed to create additional executive bandwidth and serve as the connective tissue across key initiatives, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution.

This position offers broad exposure to senior leadership, private equity sponsors, and cross-functional teams, making it an exceptional opportunity for an individual seeking a highly visible leadership role within a rapidly growing healthcare services platform.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, strong analytical capabilities, healthcare industry knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to drive complex initiatives from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on enterprise-wide opportunities and challenges.

Technology & Transformation Initiatives

  • Help shape and prioritize the company's strategic technology roadmap.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve operational effectiveness through automation, AI-enabled solutions, and process optimization.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to accelerate key transformation initiatives while maintaining focus on business outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional execution of enterprise projects that improve scalability and operational performance.

Growth Strategy & Corporate Development Support

  • Assess strategic growth opportunities, including new service offerings, adjacent markets, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Support build-versus-buy analyses and strategic investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and private equity sponsors on value creation initiatives.
  • Assist with acquisition evaluation, integration planning, and synergy realization efforts as needed.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a central coordinator across operations, technology, finance, sales, marketing, and corporate development teams.
  • Drive accountability and execution across multiple concurrent strategic initiatives.
  • Establish project governance, milestones, and performance metrics to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment among stakeholders across a geographically dispersed organization.

Core Competencies & Attributes

  • Strong business judgment with the ability to balance long-term strategy and practical execution.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong executive presence and communication capabilities.
  • Collaborative, low-ego leadership style with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Naturally proactive and action-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to drive results.

Qualifications

  • Experience within healthcare services, healthcare technology, revenue cycle management, or related healthcare sectors strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of health systems, hospital operations, healthcare reimbursement, or revenue cycle management environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with private equity-backed organizations is a plus.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Why This Opportunity

  • Direct partnership with an accomplished CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Significant visibility with one of the country's leading middle-market private equity investors.
  • Opportunity to influence strategy and execution across a market-leading healthcare services platform.
