Job Description

Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions

Location: Remote

Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed blue-collar field services platform built through the combination of established businesses and an aggressive acquisition strategy. Operating in a highly fragmented market, the company provides essential services through a network of field-based operations serving customers across the United States.

Since its formation, the organization has more than doubled in size through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, establishing a national footprint with operations in major markets across the country.

With additional acquisitions under contract and a clear growth strategy over the next several years, the company is seeking a Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions to help accelerate its expansion and play a meaningful role in creating value ahead of an anticipated future liquidity event.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment where execution matters. You'll own the full acquisition lifecycle—from helping source opportunities through diligence, negotiations, closing, and integration—while working directly with the CEO and executive leadership.

The ideal candidate brings urgency, initiative, and the ability to keep multiple transactions moving simultaneously. The company has an established buy-side advisory relationship, but this individual will also help develop proprietary opportunities and cultivate relationships across the industry.

If you're motivated by building something meaningful, closing deals, and creating enterprise value through acquisitions, this role offers exceptional visibility, autonomy, and long-term upside.

What You'll Do

  • Lead full-cycle buy-side acquisitions from initial opportunity through closing and post-close integration.
  • Evaluate acquisition targets and prioritize opportunities based on strategic and financial fit.
  • Manage multiple active transactions simultaneously while maintaining speed, organization, and accountability throughout the process.
  • Coordinate financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and transaction execution.
  • Partner closely with the CEO, executive leadership team, and private equity sponsors to execute the company's acquisition strategy.
  • Build relationships with business owners, industry advisors, brokers, and referral sources to generate proprietary deal flow.
  • Work alongside the company's retained buy-side advisor while independently sourcing attractive acquisition opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a disciplined M&A pipeline, ensuring opportunities continue moving forward with urgency.
  • Support integration planning and help ensure acquisitions deliver the operational and financial value expected.
  • Build reporting, tracking, and communication processes that provide leadership with clear visibility into acquisition activity.
  • Help shape and refine the company's long-term acquisition strategy as it continues its national expansion.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate combines strong financial and transaction expertise with a builder's mindset and a bias toward action.

Qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Transaction Advisory, or M&A.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or executing acquisitions from target evaluation through closing.
  • Experience within a private equity-backed business is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with executives, founders, advisors, and investors.
  • High sense of urgency, ownership, and personal accountability.
  • Self-starter who proactively drives opportunities rather than waiting for direction.
  • Experience working with founder-owned, middle-market businesses is highly desirable.

CPA, CFA, or MBA credentials are a plus but are not required.

Why This Opportunity?

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth platform company during one of the most exciting phases of its evolution.

The organization is executing an aggressive acquisition strategy in one of the country's largest and most fragmented essential services industries. As Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, you'll work directly alongside the CEO, influence strategic decisions, and play a critical role in building long-term enterprise value.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead acquisitions that directly shape the future of the company.
  • Work alongside an experienced executive leadership team with a clear growth vision.
  • Build relationships across a highly fragmented industry with significant acquisition opportunity.
  • Help scale a national platform through disciplined M&A execution.
  • Participate in meaningful equity value creation tied to the company's future success and anticipated exit.
