Job Description

Quality Compliance Engineer

Exciting, challenging new opportunity on a growing team that will allow you to be a key part of strategic growth, creating impact across all manufacturing divisions. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to make an immediate impact and transition their career into a unique manufacturing work culture that has been named a top workplace 14 years in a row.

With the support of the Quality & Compliance Manager, this key quality engineering role will be the primary representative for strategic compliance programs, ensuring internal partners, processes, and critical suppliers comply with U.S. government defense contracting requirements. This role will develop and enforce key aspects of the organization's quality management systems to maintain compliance, product integrity, and support operational team targets.

Ideal candidates will be quality professionals with strong working knowledge and experience in defense and aerospace quality requirements, and experience developing bridge programs and processes for administrative and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with government contracting (FAR/DFARS/ITAR) requirements. Strongest candidates will also have some prior exposure to CUI and CMMC program requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Program Quality Advancement & Support:

•      Serve as the primary quality representative between compliance programs and the company's sales, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain functions.

•      Develop and maintain program-specific quality, manufacturing, and purchasing plans, procedures, documentation, and records in accordance with contract requirements and internal processes.

•      Create, refine, and deploy quality systems, procedures, documentation, and training that drive consistency and compliance.

•      Assist as necessary in risk assessments, gap analysis, and process audits to assess internal or external supplier compliance performance and identify or mitigate risks.

•      Lead root cause analysis and corrective action development for internal or external compliance nonconformances, customer complaints, and quality alerts.

Federal Regulatory Compliance:

•      Interpret defense contracts, purchase orders, and supplier quality guidelines related to DFARS, FAR, ITAR, and CMMC-related quality processes.

•      Develop and maintain internal processes and ensure proper flow-down of requirements, specifications, and procedures to internal partners, suppliers, and subcontractors, including audit support.

Required:

•      2+ years of relevant quality assurance experience in aerospace, defense, or a high-compliance manufacturing environment

•      Strong working knowledge of aerospace/defense quality requirements and government contracting compliance standards (FAR/DFARS/ITAR/AS9100)

•      Strong initiative, with demonstrable experience helping develop and deploy internal and external quality programs to bridge manufacturing, administrative, and supplier processes for compliance

•      Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate and train on compliance requirements in a cross-functional, collaborative environment

•      Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing contract compliance documentation and assessing internal program statuses

•      U.S. Person status designation

Preferred:

•      Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality

•      Experience in a quality assurance role with exposure to hands-on inspection methods, quality control practices, and documentation methods

•      Some working knowledge of CMMC and its impact on quality management systems and internal/external controls

•      Previous experience developing and facilitating training that elevates quality and compliance awareness

•      Experience with ERP systems
