Capital Equipment Aftermarket Sales Executive
Aftermarket Sales Executive – Capital Equipment
Our client, a well-established manufacturer of capital equipment, is looking for an Aftermarket Sales Executive to help drive growth across their installed base. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, solving technical problems, and being the go-to resource for parts, service, and support after the sale.
About the Role
The Aftermarket Sales Executive supports aftermarket revenue growth through the sale of OEM replacement parts, assemblies, consumables, service offerings, and technical training. You'll work alongside outside sales professionals focused on capital equipment, managing day-to-day aftermarket activity for assigned customers and installed-base accounts. This role partners closely with sales, engineering, service, and operations to keep customers running and coming back.
What You'll Do
- Support outside sales professionals by managing aftermarket sales activities for parts, assemblies, consumables, services, and training
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers on aftermarket-related inquiries following capital equipment sales
- Identify and pursue aftermarket opportunities within the installed base — replacement, replenishment, upgrades, and training needs
- Promote the value of OEM replacement parts and consumables to support equipment reliability and lifecycle performance
- Respond to customer requests for quotes, product availability, lead times, and order status
- Interpret customer requirements, purchase orders, and application details to propose the right aftermarket solution
- Prepare and support quotations for standard and semi-custom aftermarket products, services, and training
- Coordinate with order entry, operations, and supply chain to keep orders moving accurately and on time
- Monitor open orders and proactively communicate status, delivery updates, and changes to customers
- Maintain accurate CRM records — contacts, accounts, quotes, opportunities, and interactions
- Manage your CRM pipeline for all open and active opportunities
- Partner with product management and engineering on technically complex parts, upgrades, and training needs
- Provide feedback to leadership on customer needs, recurring issues, and installed-base trends
What You Bring
- Experience in B2B inside sales or sales support, ideally within an industrial, manufacturing, or aftermarket environment
- A solid understanding of OEM parts, assemblies, consumables, and aftermarket sales models
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Comfort working in a team-based, cross-functional manufacturing environment
- A highly organized, detail-oriented approach with strong follow-up discipline
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and CRM platforms (Salesforce experience a plus)
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to accuracy and responsiveness
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline preferred
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, aftermarket sales, applications engineering, or a related role within a manufacturing environment
Ability to Travel
- Up to 25% travel
