Payroll Manager
Payroll Manager - Charlotte, NC
HireneXus has partnered with an established commercial finance company to recruit a Payroll Manager for its Charlotte, NC office. This position offers visibility and interaction with senior leadership, along with opportunities for career advancement.
The ideal candidate will be a payroll specialist with experience owning the entire payroll process. This role is fully responsible for managing all payroll related activities as a department of one.
Position Responsibilities
• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time
• Process salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other payroll deductions
• Manage payroll updates related to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and employee status changes
• Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and supporting documentation
• Conduct final reviews of new-hire, status-change, and termination files as part of established payroll controls
• Track employee leave as it relates to payroll
• Process stock vesting and grants as they relate to payroll
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and applicable best practices
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested payroll records and documentation
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
• Three to five years of relevant payroll experience
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential employee and compensation information professionally
