Project Estimator
Project Estimator:
Have experience in estimating, bidding, or project management? You might be a great fit — even if you've never worked in civil infrastructure before.
We're a Dallas-area company specializing in civil infrastructure projects, working with TxDOT, NTTA, and other major entities across Texas. It's a niche industry, but the estimating fundamentals translate directly from construction, electrical, civil, or virtually any project-based field.
If you know how to read plans, build a cost estimate, manage a bid process, and work with customers and suppliers — we can teach you the rest.
🔍 What You'll Do
- Search project databases to identify and pursue new bid opportunities
- Analyze plans and specifications to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates
- Identify and flag deviations in scope and specifications within bid requests
- Apply historical data and industry standards to build pricing models
- Present cost estimates to customers and manage relationships through the bid process
- Track bid status and award performance data
- Create purchase orders with suppliers as part of the estimating workflow
- Price change orders for project owners
- Stay sharp through ongoing training and industry development
✅ What We're Looking For
We're open to a range of backgrounds. If you check most of these boxes, we want to hear from you:
- Estimating or project management experience — construction, electrical, civil, infrastructure, or similar fields
- Comfortable reading and interpreting plans, specs, and technical documents
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and general Microsoft Office proficiency
- Solid verbal communication and presentation skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple bids and deadlines
- Self-starter who can work independently and stay accountable to timelines
- Team player who collaborates well across departments
Nice to Have (but not required):
- Experience with TxDOT or NTTA projects
- Background in traffic signals, ITS, roadway signage, or electrical/illumination systems
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred — or equivalent hands-on experience
