Cardiology Manager
Cardiology Practice Manager
Western Suburbs of Chicago
A large, physician-led medical group in the Chicago area, backed by private equity, is hiring a Cardiology Practice Manager to lead operations across five cardiology offices in the western suburbs.
The cardiology department is growing fast. Recent investment in cardiac imaging has changed what the practice can offer patients, and the group is adding physicians at a steady pace. This role is the operational partner to the physicians. It owns the patient experience, access, and the team that makes these offices run.
What you'll do
- Lead operations for five cardiology offices supporting more than 20 physicians and 17 advanced practice providers
- Manage a team of about 120 through three direct-report supervisors (advanced practice, medical assistants, and nursing)
- Build close working relationships with physicians and keep them informed on goals, performance, and organizational changes
- Improve patient access, triage workflows, scheduling, and wait times
- Track operational and patient experience metrics, look into outliers, and drive improvement with the clinical team
- Hire, coach, and develop staff and supervisors, and build a strong team culture across sites
- Work alongside a peer leader over cardiac testing as part of a broader regional management team
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in healthcare, including at least 3 years leading teams in an ambulatory, specialty practice, or hospital outpatient setting
- Experience managing supervisors or leads, ideally across multiple sites
- Proven ability to partner with physicians and earn their trust
- A track record of improving access, throughput, or patient experience
- Clinical background (RN) preferred but not required. Strong operations leaders from non-clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
If you've built a strong practice team and want a bigger platform in a growing specialty, we'd like to talk.
