Vice President Compliance
Vice President of Compliance
Remote (U.S.)
We're partnering with a national, private equity-backed healthcare services organization to find its next Vice President of Compliance. Our client supports a large, multi-state network of physician practices with the operational and administrative infrastructure they need to grow and focus on patient care. The company is scaling quickly and is investing in a modern, enterprise-wide compliance program to match.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the VP of Compliance will lead the people, processes, and systems behind the organization's compliance program. You'll set the strategy and operating model for audit, monitoring, investigations, hotline management, issue remediation, policy governance, training, and reporting, and you'll make sure the program scales consistently across the enterprise. This is a role for a builder who likes making a program run better, smarter, and more measurably.
What You'll Do
- Set the strategic direction, governance structure, and operating model for the enterprise compliance program
- Lead risk-based audit and monitoring programs, including coding and documentation audits and internal control assessments
- Provide executive oversight of compliance investigations, including fraud, waste and abuse, conflicts of interest, retaliation, and hotline concerns
- Build consistent, defensible methodologies for audits, investigations, case management, and escalation
- Oversee issue management and corrective action from identification through validated resolution
- Own the compliance data and analytics strategy, including dashboards, scorecards, trend analysis, and executive reporting
- Drive adoption of compliance technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency and audit readiness
- Lead enterprise compliance training and communications across clinical, operational, and corporate teams
- Manage compliance committees, external audits, and government inquiries
- Partner closely with Legal, Operations, Revenue Cycle, Finance, IT, HR, and clinical leadership
- Lead and develop a team of compliance, audit, and investigation professionals
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, audit, investigations, risk, or a similarly regulated environment
- 7+ years leading compliance programs, audit functions, or investigation teams
- Track record of building or scaling enterprise compliance operations, governance, and technology
- Hands-on experience with risk-based audit plans, complex investigations, and corrective action programs
- Comfort using data, analytics, and compliance technology to measure effectiveness and spot emerging risk
- Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior leaders and drive accountability
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- CHC, CCEP, CIA, CFE, or similar certifications a plus
- Experience in multi-site physician services or private equity-backed healthcare is a strong plus
Why This Role
You'll have the mandate and executive support to build a best-in-class compliance program at a growing, well-capitalized organization, with real room to modernize how compliance gets done through data and technology. The role is fully remote, so you can lead from anywhere in the U.S.
