Job Description

Director, Transformation & Strategy

Private Equity–Backed Professional Services Organization | Dallas, TX / Hybrid

A leading private equity–backed professional services organization is seeking a high-impact Director, Transformation & Strategy to help shape, prioritize, and execute enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Transformation & Strategy Officer, this role sits at the center of strategy, analytics, and execution, with a mandate to drive measurable and sustained value creation across the business.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for an analytically rigorous operator who can translate strategic ambition into executed results, embed performance discipline across initiatives, and partner closely with executive leadership to accelerate change at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Transformation Leadership

  • Help define and advance the firm’s enterprise transformation agenda, ensuring initiatives are clearly prioritized, financially quantified, and tightly managed to outcomes
  • Serve as a hands-on initiative leader, accountable for execution and results—not just oversight
  • Translate strategic priorities into executable programs, ensuring disciplined follow-through and accountability across the organization
  • Elevate transformation capabilities by embedding best-in-class execution rigor, KPI discipline, and value realization standards

Strategy, Analytics & Value Discipline

  • Own value-at-stake identification, financial impact modeling, KPI definition, and benefits realization tracking across transformation initiatives
  • Ensure all major initiatives are supported by robust business cases, aligned assumptions, and clear success metrics
  • Monitor performance through dashboards, analytics, and structured operating reviews, proactively identifying risks and course-correcting as needed
  • Drive data-driven decision-making across initiatives, reinforcing a culture of accountability and transparency

Executive Partnership & Governance

  • Partner closely with executive leadership and internal stakeholders to identify, structure, and execute high-impact initiatives aligned to strategic objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by translating complex data, scenarios, and trade-offs into clear, actionable insights
  • Lead executive-level forums, governance bodies, and operating reviews to provide transparency into progress, risks, and value realization
  • Strengthen alignment across functions while maintaining speed and avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy

Team Leadership & Influence

  • Coach and develop junior transformation talent, setting high standards for analytical rigor, communication quality, and executive presence
  • Influence leaders across the organization to adopt data-driven decision-making and performance transparency without direct authority
  • Operate within a flexible, pooled resource model, collaborating across initiatives to drive impact where it matters most

Key Qualifications

Experience & Background

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in management consulting, strategy, transformation, private equity, investment banking, or comparable enterprise roles
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level strategy or transformation initiatives from concept through execution and value realization
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in matrixed environments

Analytical & Financial Acumen

  • Strong financial modeling, business case development, and quantitative analysis capabilities
  • Deep experience designing, implementing, and governing KPI frameworks and performance management systems
  • Comfort operating at both the strategic and detailed execution levels

Leadership & Communication

  • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clear, compelling narratives
  • Strong project and program management skills in fast-paced, high-expectation environments
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to drive outcomes through influence rather than authority

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, economics, engineering, analytics, or a related field
  • MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, scenario analysis, and performance measurement
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for executive-ready presentations
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with enterprise analytics platforms, BI environments, and performance reporting systems
  • Exposure to emerging analytical tools, including automation and AI-enabled insights, a plus

Location & Work Model

  • Hybrid role based in the Dallas / Plano area
  • Expected in-office presence of approximately 3–4 days per week
  • Approximately 10% travel

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing Transformation & Strategy function at the center of the organization’s growth agenda. The team is designed to execute enterprise priorities—including organic growth, M&A integration, margin expansion, and digital enablement—through coordinated, high-impact initiatives.

The right candidate will bring a combination of analytical rigor, operational execution, and ownership mindset, with the ability to lead critical initiatives end-to-end and deliver measurable value in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
